There's a new way to promote the thousands of parks in California.  

A website, called, has just been launched, and it covers the nearly 12,000 parks throughout the state.

It's like Yelp, but for outdoor recreation.

It incorporates social media -- including Twitter, Flickr and Instagram -- and uses visitors' posts of photographs to supply its catalog of images.  

This comes as the Parks Forward Commission recently issued a report, urging technology to be used to connect Californians to parks.
