For the second day in a row, a big rig accident caused a mess on local freeways as rain contributed to more than 200 accidents over the two days. Tuesday's big rig crash on northbound I-805 at Bonita/E Street was reported at 3:46 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued a Traffic Alert.

The driver of the truck said he was trying to avoid a dip to the right. When he maneuvered to the left, he hit the divder and crashed into the sedan. Debris from that crash flew to the other side of the freeway onto south I-805. Two people were taken to a hospital.

Another big truck ended upside down across all northbound lanes of the 15 Freeway in Rancho Bernardo on Monday. Drivers had to inch their way along the HOV lanes that were opened to alleviate the congestion.

The storm from the north, which brought rain, strong winds and colder temperatures to San Diego County, was expected to move out of the county by Tuesday afternoon.
