Crews knocked down a fire that burned one unit and affected at least five others at a Vista apartment complex Thursday night.

The fire was reported just after 7 p.m. at the complex on 190 Pala Vista Drive, fire dispatchers said.

10News learned the fire began in one of the units, but at least five other units had smoke and other damage.

Crews from agencies in Oceanside, Carlsbad and San Marcos worked together to knock the fire down at about 8 p.m.

Several residents were evacuated by the fire. It is unknown how many evacuees will need Red Cross assistance.

No injuries were immediately reported.
