Former San Diego Mayor Bob Filner will be back in court next month for sentencing December 9th. Tuesday morning the State Attorney General announced formal charges against Filner had been filed.

He was facing one felony count of false imprisonment by violence, fraud, menace and deceit, as well as two misdemeanor counts of battery. The charges involve three un-named women identified only as "Jane Does 1,2 and 3."

Filner appeared at the proceedings which were scheduled at the San Diego Superior Court downtown Tuesday morning.

Filner resigned from office amid a sexual harassment scandal.

Since claims of harassment surfaced in July, there had been a hotline for alleged victims to call, which was set up by the San Diego sheriff's department. The sheriff's department would not confirm the number or nature of any calls.
