It is a special tribute to Tony Gwynn at the County Administration Building on Pacific Highway.
On June 19th, county officials put up a 4-story tall number "19" Padres jersey in honor of Tony Gwynn on the tower of the county building.
The huge jersey measures 30 by 35 feet and was first hung on the county building in 2007 when Tony Gwynn was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Supervisor Dianne Jacob thanked Cox Communications for underwriting it...and said "the giant jersey will fly over the downtown skyline to honor a giant of our community."
The huge jersey will remain on the county building for one month, until July 19th, which happens to be the date Tony Gwynn made his major league debut in 1982.
