An man from Orange County who smashed a beer bottle over a fan's head following a Chargers game at Qualcomm Stadium won't have to serve any more jail time. he has been sentenced to probation and credit for jail time already served.
42-year-old Ramon Heredia pleaded guilty in March to a charge of assault with a deadly weapon and he could have been sentenced to as much as four years in state prison.
But Judge Jeff Fraser cited Heredia's remorse for the crime and sentenced him to 400 hours of volunteer work in the next 18 months. The judge said the unusual case is an example of what can happen at a football game when alcohol is involved.
And the judge warned Heredia, who has four kids, to refrain from getting drunk at games and not to get into arguments.
