The assailant, who appeared to be in his mid-20s to mid-30s, entered the woman's residence in the 4000 block of 48th Street through an unlocked door about 5:30 p.m. Monday, forced her into a bedroom and attacked her, according to San Diego police. The intruder fled immediately following the assault, sex crimes Lt. Chuck Kaye said.

The victim described the man as about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a light complexion, graying black hair combed toward the back of his head, and facial hair on his chin and on the sides of his upper lip, but not directly beneath his nose. He was wearing jeans, brown work boots and a worn, dirty T-shirt.
