A 60-year-old woman accused of escaping a Michigan jail 37 years ago is fighting her extradition from San Diego. Defense Attorney Lisa Damiani identified her client as Jamie Lewis and told the court today that she is not admitting to the name Judy Lynn Hayman. Police say she is Hayman and she already admitted it. Michigan authorities want her returned from California to serve the rest of a sentence of less than two years for attempting to steal clothes from a store in 1976. Damiani says her client is pleading not guilty to being a fugitive. An identity hearing will be held later this month. Police arrested the woman Monday at her Balboa Park apartment after the FBI reported finding fingerprint matches for Hayman at various police agencies but under different names.
