(Cleveland) - It was a swealtering Tuesday throughout the region and it turned out to be a recrod breaker!

The mercury touched 96 degrees about 3pm Tuesday topping the old mark of 93 for Sept. 10 set all the way back in 1964.

Mark Adams with the National Weather Service says the normal high for this time of year should be around 77.

Adams expects another hot day Wednesday but he says temps will check in at about 90 due to increased cloud cover.

A cold front is expected to sweep through Thursday bringing with it colder temperatures.
