Mom and I took a road trip to the desert...along with about 40 thousand of our closest friends. Luckily, We hit the road VERY early, so we beat the crowd.

The pictures in the car are from when we were leaving. On our way down the hill, we even saw an El Cajon police truck, pulling a trailer full of horses. I bet they needed the crowd-control. It was beautiful. With only a few testy people sprinkled-in to keep it interesting.

Thanks to all the rain, the desert is experiencing a "Super Bloom", the best show of flowers in years. A lot of people are making the drive out east to check out the blooms so be prepared for crowds. Don't forget your patience and sunscreen.
