Parents in Escondido are being warned after police said a man tried to lure a young boy into his truck at a park in daylight over the weekend.
According to Escondido police, the incident happened at about 9a.m. Saturday at Kit Carson Park, while a Little League baseball game was being played nearby. Some say they heard the man tried to lure the boy by offering him cake and asked if he would like to sit in the back of his truck, but the boy ran off.
Parents were emailed a warning about the incident by a league president. Police described the man as in his 60's, with a mustache and gray hair. He was driving a white truck believed to be a Toyota Tacoma.
