Vigils Planned After University City Deadly Shooting

Three vigils are happening tonight in memory of the woman killed during the deadly pool party shooting in University City Sunday, and to remember survivors of the attack. 35-year-old Monique Clark, a mother of three, died at the hospital after the shooting.  Six other people were injured.

The first event is a 6:00p.m Dove Vigil at La Jolla Crossroads Apartments on Judicial Drive, where the shooting took place.  The event was organized by the group Dreaming of Violence-Free Everywhere, which has been staging vigils to honor victims of violence for four to five years.

A GoFundMe page has been set up in memory of Monique. Click HERE if you would like to help.

Two churches are also holding prayer services.  One is scheduled at 6:30p.m. at the Good Samaritan Episcopal Church, 4321 Eastgate Mall. The other starts at 7:00p.m., at the First Baptist Church of San Diego, 5055 Governor Drive.
