Huge Fire Sends Plumes of Black Smoke into Sky

It took San Diego firefighters more than an hour to knock down a huge three alarm fire in the Miramar area just north of the MCAS Marine base Saturday morning.

The fire was reported about 7:45 a.m. in a commercial and industrial building on at 8963 Carroll Way, that’s just north of Miramar Road at Carroll Road.  There are at least three businesses listed at that address including  a trucking company.

The fire sent plumes of black smoke into the air in theMiramar area before firefighters were able to get it under control. There were no immediate reports of injuries and the cause is under investigation.
