Prescription Drug Take Back Day Locations in San Diego

What do you do with your unused medication and prescriptions? According to a new study of more than 3,000 San Diegans, 45% of people do not dispose of their pills properly and 45% of people store their expired prescriptions in their home.

Those are some worrisome stats, as leaving unused medications in your home can increase the chance they are stolen or taken by someone who doesn't have a prescription. National Drug Take Back Day is Saturday from 10am-2pm.

There are dozens of locations across the county where you can properly dispose of unwanted, unused or expired pills and other medications. The service is free and anonymous. If you can't participate in Drug Take Back Day, you can drop off unwanted prescriptions at any Sheriff's Station or Substation during normal business hours.
