San Diego County Grand Jury Report On Hep A Response

The San Diego County Grand Jury has released a report on the response to the Hepatitis A outbreak. The report is entitled : The San Diego Epidemic: Mishandling a Public Health Crisis.

The Grand Jury came to many of the same conclusions already reached by the County in its own self assessment.

The county needs to improve communication and coordination of activities  with all agencies involved.

The Grand Jury says that delayed sanitation procedures that could have mitigated the spread of Hepatitis  A,  which killed 20 people and sickened nearly 600.

But the report praised leaders for developing foot teams to get to hard to reach members of the homeless community.

There are several recommendations, and here's a link to the report
