Arrest Made in Stabbing on Greyhound Bus in University City

An arrest has been made in connection with a stabbing on a Greyhound bus Wednesday.

Authorities say a man riding on the bus on Interstate 5 in the University City area stabbed a fellow passenger, then jumped out of the moving vehicle and fled into a neighborhood near UC San Diego, authorities said.

The assault in the southbound transit coach was reported shortly before 12:30 p.m., according to San Diego police. The severity of the victim's injuries was nor immediately clear.

Following the attack, the assailant jumped out of the bus, rolling across the roadway before bolting to the west, SDPD Officer Steve Bourasa said. 

A witness reported seeing the man fleeing near an office building on the east side of the UCSD campus.

No details on the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
