SDPD Seek Help In Locating Burglary/Sexual Assault Suspect

Authorities today asked the public for help in locating a man suspected of sneaking into a Pacific Beach home and sexually assaulting a woman.

Jeffrey Hanze, 55, allegedly entered the victim's residence shortly before 2 a.m. Oct. 1 and began assaulting the resident as she slept, according to San Diego police.

When she awoke, the assailant fled, Lt. Jason Weeden said.

The suspect is described as a balding, roughly 6-foot-tall, 200-pound white man with blue eyes. He should be considered armed and dangerous, the lieutenant said.

It was unclear how investigators identified Hanze as the alleged perpetrator in the case. Anyone spotting the suspect is asked to refrain from contacting him and to call 911.
