Military Members And Spouses Can Find A New Career At A San Diego Job Fair

50 employers are ready to hire and are looking for members of the military or their spouses transitioning to a new career.

DAV and Recruit Military will host the San Diego Veterans Job Fair this Thursday, Feb. 28th at the Scottish Rite Event Center from 11 am to 3 pm.

It's for veterans, transitioning military personnel and military spouses. This event features 50 employers and coincides with Recruit Military’s recently announced collaboration with Google and its newly designed job search function for military trained talent.

Before you go to the job fair, you can plug in your skills and experience on the Google search function, which is on the Recruit Military web page and the algorithms and built-in military occupational specialty (MOS) can match you with civilian jobs. In early testing of the service, Recruit Military has seen a more than 13% increase in veteran job seekers applying to jobs, and search volume by users is increased by more than 10%.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s January report, the rate of veteran unemployment holds steady at an all-time low – currently at 3.7%, which means military trained talent is in demand by civilian employers.

Now Google and Recruit Military are making it easier for both job seekers and employers by changing the job search and job placement processes for both parties.
