Inmate Escapes from Los Colinas Women's Jail in Santee

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department says 22-year-old Destiny Guns escaped custody from the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility in Santee Saturday evening.

Guns was last seen wearing blue pants and a white t-shirt or white sports bra. The Sheriff's Department says she may be barefoot and is known to frequent the Santee area. She escaped from Las Colinas just after 6:00 p.m. Saturday. Her last known location was in a field on the southwest side of the facility. All other inmates at Las Colinas Reentry and Detention Facility were accounted for. A spokesman says guns has no violent history. She was arrested on April 1st on charges of possessing a stolen car.

Destiny Guns is 5’2” tall and weighs 100 pounds. She has green eyes and brown hair. She has a tattoo of an elephant skull on her right arm and a grasshopper on her chest.

There was increased law enforcement activity in the area of Cottonwood Avenue and Mission Gorge Road in Santee as Sheriff’s ASTREA searched overhead with deputies on the ground.
