Finding Answers to California's High Gas Prices

California leads the nation in a lot of things, but as we are often reminded, being the leader in some things is not a good thing.

Take housing prices for one and take gas prices for another.

When it comes to gas prices, we’ve been paying around 4-dollars a gallon and even more.

And now with the Governor asking the state’s attorney general to investigate why gas prices are so much higher here than in other states, finding an answer to that question is something everyone wants to know.

We all have heard about the problems with transporting the gas to California and the state’s different blends of gas for summer and winter and the breakdowns or maintenance at refineries in the state all said to be some of the causes of our higher gas prices.

And we also have come to realize how much of the price we pay for gas in California includes a lot of state and federal taxes.

But now with the Governor saying a study by the state’s energy commission suggests there may be misleading practices and price fixing going on by the gas companies, the search for answers to California’s high gas prices has intensified.
