6 More Coronavirus Deaths in San Diego County; Cases Rise to Nearly 2,000

San Diego County health officials say six more people in San Diego County have died from COVID-19.

The County says the six people who died most recently ranged in age from 63 to 100. Health officials say the deaths of these 6 people bring the total in San Diego County since the pandemic began to 53.

The County also reported 83 new cases of coronavirus, up from the 43 new cases reported each of the last two days prior. But Supervisor Nathan Fletcher said we don't watch daily numbers as much as the trends. The total number of cases in the county is now at 1,930. He said thanks to efforts by county residents, progress has been made but the efforts must continue. Fletcher said county officials can't predict when restrictions will begin to be eased.
