San Diego County Remains in State's Red Tier

San Diego County remains in the state's Red tier according to latest update from the California Department of Public Health.

The county's adjusted case rate for tier assignment is at 6.5; if the county hit 7 cases per day per 100,000, the county would have been moved to California's more restrictive purple tier. The latest updates on the county tiers is available at https://covid19.ca.gov/safer-economy/.

While the number of community outbreaks has been rising, the case rate and positive test rate are holding steady, metrics used by the state to determine what tier a county is in. A new equity metric was added this week by the state to encourage counties to strengthen efforts to reduce case rates in all local communities..
