George Lopez To Open Delivery-Only Taqueria In San Diego

George Lopez is getting into the recent "ghost kitchen" trend. The comedian and actor will launch a delivery-only taqueria in San Diego soon, reports NBC7.

The Denver-based company Nextbite announced on Wednesday, May 5, that it will be partnering with Lopez for a ghost kitchen or "virtual" concept called George Lopez Tacos.

The restaurant will be delivery-only, featuring Mexican street taco recipes developed by Lopez. The menu will have slow-cooked meats, lots of special salsas, and mini churros.

The restaurants will be housed in kitchens of multiple local restaurants that already exist throughout San Diego County.

The founder of Nextbite found Alex Canter told NBC7 that the specific locations will be revealed around the restaurant's launch time.

“We’re targeting markets where tacos will perform well and, of course, San Diego is at the top of that list,” he said.

“He loved the idea of collaborating on a virtual restaurant with our company,” said Canter. “The food is really authentic to George. Even the churro bites – that’s his favorite dessert. We had a lot of fun making this menu together.”

George Lopez Tacos will launch on June 8. Other restaurant locations include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York City, Atlanta, Dallas, and Denver.
