Where Small Earthquake in San Diego County Was Felt

A 3.5-magnitude earthquake was reported in San Diego County Friday morning.

It was centered in the Palomar Mountain area about 20 miles northeast of Escondido and hit at 6:30 a.m. according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

USGS data shows the quake struck just south of the Palomar Observatory, The quake was initially registered at 3.7, but the USGS updated its data several minutes later to reflect the 3.5 magnitude.

There were reports of residents from San Diego to Ramona and Temecula feeling some light shaking according to the USGS website. There was no immediate word on damage.
