These sweet Schnaunzer-mix puppies are 8 weeks old and currently weigh 5 to 6 pounds.
The puppies have been given temporary names based on different types of Cactus: Dragon Fruit, Prickly Pear, Hedgehog, and Jumping Cholla were at a rescue in the Imperial Valley before being transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the Friends of County Animal Shelters program.
It's never too soon to teach them the rules. Relax and stick to the basics. Remember that they’re only puppies for a short time, but they’ll give you their whole life.
The $195 adoption fee for one of the Cactus puppies includes medical exams, vaccinations, spay, and registered microchip. For more information call 760-753-6413, visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas, or log on to SDpets.org.
Kennels and Cattery open 11 AM to 5 PM every day but Tuesday.
