A Family's Mission to Solve the Spreckels Mansion Mystery in Coronado

Mysteries can be baffling. Of course that’s what mysteries are.

They sometimes don’t make sense and they can make you doubt the truth.

And that’s why so many people are so baffled by the mysterious case of Rebecca Zahau, the young woman who was found dead hanging from a balcony at the famous Spreckels Mansion in Coronado eight years ago.

Sheriff’s investigators and the Medical Examiner ruled it a suicide, but the family didn’t believe it from the start and still doesn’t, despite the fact that a review of the investigation by investigators confirmed the original findings.

But the family questions the investigation and that’s why they offered a big reward this week in an effort to prove that the brother of Rebecca’s boyfriend killed her and that there was no suicide.

And there are a plenty of people from Coronado and from all over who believe that someone killed Rebecca and that she would never have taken her own life, especially in the way that she did.

Why? Because it just doesn’t make sense. And when something doesn’t make sense, alarm bells tend to go off, questions emerge and as TV’s Judge Judy frequently puts it, it’s probably not true.

And that’s why her family is on a mission to solve the mystery in the mysterious case of Rebecca Zahau.
