Help us Help the Kids and Families Hard Hit During 2020 Holiday Season

The on again off again life of restaurant employees drags on during the pandemic at a time of great need.

A judge’s order is sending food service workers back to work, at least for now, but will another judge at a higher level make a different decision that could change things?

Many of the restaurant employees are among the workers who have been hit the hardest by the virus and the shutdowns over the last nine months.

And studies show that people here in San Diego and across the country with the smaller incomes are the ones who have taken the biggest economic hit.

For many of them, this holiday season is not as bright as they would want, with jobs lost, income dwindling and the hardships on families who can’t buy the toys they want for their kids or at times, even the food on their table.

And that’s why; we’re making a special effort, with our listeners’ help, to help some of these people in need in our community.

For several decades now, every year, thanks to a man with a huge heart who started it all, by the name of Stoney Stone, who one day decided to help needy kids in El Cajon with gifts of toys.

And every year since, people in the East County have carried on his legacy with a Toy and Food Drive that helps thousands of kids and families every year.

But this year, because of the pandemic, there are more kids and more families in need.

As loyal KOGO listeners, we hope you can help us fill that need by donating to the East County Toy and Food Drive. And as Stoney used to say, it’s all about the kids. Especially here in 2020.

SEE HOW YOU CAN DONATE.
