Every day they wake up, and they get ready to head to their jobs, they know they are putting themselves at risk.
They are the thousands of doctors, nurses, and other health care workers at all the hospitals in San Diego County.
Having neighbors across the street who are nurses and among all these thousands, it’s easy to see what kind of people these brave health care workers are. They chose their profession in part of course to make a living and care for their families.
But there’s something you see in a lot of these nurses and the other people working inside hospitals. It’s a big heart. And it sets them apart.
And they also have something else, a willingness to risk their own health to help others with theirs. And with the families of those who are ill not being able to see them, they often are the ones who bring emotional and spiritual support to their patients.
And that’s why all these heroes on the front lines in this on-going battle against the COVID virus need our support and our prayers. And that’s why Saturday morning (1/30) at 9 a.m. thousands of people across San Diego County will be joining together virtually to pray for these health care workers at a critical time when they can become weary and overwhelmed by their calling.
