What You Need When You Can Get Vaccinated

Good news over the weekend in the battle against the coronavirus even though it is still infecting a lot of people and still putting people in the hospital and with people still dying.

It was the opening of the county’s third vaccination super-station in San Marcos. And the county says a fourth one is expected to open sometime this week in the East County. And the county plans to add more of the smaller vaccination clinics, pods they call them, at various locations as well.

But the process of vaccinating everyone in the county who should be vaccinated does have some challenges. Trying to get an appointment locked in can be as hard as it was trying to find a PS5 PlayStation before the holidays.

And there are long waits at times, standing in line or sitting in your car. If you’ve been one of those who have been checking the website where you make appointments, then you know what it’s like.

So as important as it is for everyone to get the shot, it’s just as important to get yourself several doses of patience. The vaccination of all Americans is going to take some time. Public health experts say it could be late summer before the 80-percent of the people in the United States who need to be vaccinated to develop her immunity get vaccinated.

But only then we will start getting back to normal and start putting the pandemic behind us.
