The Promising Future of the Pandemic Generation

A new study about the impact on teens from the pandemic that began a year ago in early 2020 should raise concerns about what’s happening now and what will happen in the years ahead.

The study done at UCLA says the evidence of the impact of isolation and virtual learning on teens shows that the fallout from the pandemic will last long after it’s over.

The PhD who led the study says he worries that there may be a “lack of public response — or even sympathy — for these kids and young adults.”

As he put it in report at Healthline.com, “There has been a huge medical response to COVID, and politicians have stepped up to protect the economy, which will bounce back rapidly once herd immunity is achieved” but he adds, “There just hasn’t been any response to the educational problems. None.”

Hearing words like that should make us all worried and determined to do something about helping the teens of this COVID generation today who will be the leaders of tomorrow.

There is evidence that should make us hopeful about the future. These teens of today will have gone through together a pandemic crisis and a political crisis. They will not forget watching a virus ravage people’s lives and politics ravage the building that represents America by Americans on January 6th of 2021.

And having three grand-teens now, two of whom turned13 years old just today, but who can't have a traditional birthday celebration, just listening to what they say and looking into their eyes, it’s easy to see a bright future for them and a bright future for our country.
