We may not be as anxious and worried about the pandemic than we were a year ago when we were all wearing masks, social distancing and not having gatherings with family or friends and worrying just how long would this all last till things got back to normal.
But this Christmas, with an uninvited guest named Omicron this holiday season, a lot of us are still stressed and worn out. It can feel like the movie Groundhog Day. We wake up every morning and the pandemic is still here and it can feel like the same things are going on over and over and over. Cases rising, hospitals filling, and cancellations happening.
Even the vaccines, which are proving to be safe and effective, have become even more controversial with court fights and family disagreements over our responsibilities and our rights.
But maybe this new surge and the current situation come at a good time….a time when we annually and naturally think more about the message of Christmas and we experience the feeling of Christmas.
A time when we cherish more the blessings we have and have had and appreciate more the people in our lives; our friends, our families and our co-workers.
It’s been said that if you want to feel better about the things going on around you, act the way you want to feel, and you’ll find that you actually feel better. And right now, we all want to feel better.
