How the Winter Storms Back There Affect Us in San Diego

If you’re checking your Twitter feed today, you may see this tweet from a guy in Texas.

“I lived in Nigeria and India as a child but never knew the sweet relief of waking up to find out you still have power until I moved to Texas."

A tweet like that is to be expected what with Texans went through during February last year, when hundreds of thousands of people lost power and water service for days.

it’s not surprising to see a tweet like that today, with another winter storm hitting Texas with plunging temperatures, and freezing rain that could snap power lines and no guarantee it won’t happen again despite what state and energy officials have said. And Texas is only one of many states from there to New England getting hit by this latest severe winter weather.

Even our nighttime temperatures falling to the freezing mark in some areas of the country. And we do feel the impacts of the winter storms back east with flights being cancelled and delayed to and from San Diego.

These winter storms of course are reminders of how fortunate we are to live in San Diego where bad weather is not the problem it is at times in most of the other country. So, guess we shouldn’t complain about having to wear a sweater and jacket during our winters.
