When it comes to vacation spots, there are few people who don’t think that San Diego is probably one of the hottest or best vacation destinations in the country.
The reputation of being America’s Finest City is symbolic of San Diego being described as he city with America’s finest weather.
But today and tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service, San Diego is expected to be, literally and scientifically, one of the hottest spots in the country. Their prediction is Santa Ana winds and high pressure will push temperatures into the 80s.
While temps in the 80’s might be described as more warm than hot, the readings will be above the norm for San Diego in February, but compared to most of the country, where winter is locked in for another six weeks anyway according to that famous groundhog, temperatures in the 80s is hot.
And the NWS says our high temperatures could turn out to be higher than their official forecast.
As San Diego meteorologist Alex Tardy puts it, “Our temperature forecasts are notoriously low on extreme events like this because we tend to overstate the sea breeze.”
So will today and tomorrow be days when you will want to grab your phone, take a pic, and send it off to a friend of family member back east shivering in their chilly winter weather? Definitely!
