We are all watching in horror as it is happening live.
We are watching a war happening in a way it has never happened before. Live images on social media, on websites and on TV. The entire world is watching, except or course inside Russia where the government has shut down media sources. And what we are watching is hard to watch, very hard. It brings sadness, it brings tears and it brings anger.
The Christian Post is asking its readers to imagine what it must be like in Ukraine right now. As they put it:
“Imagine enemy aircraft overhead. Heavily armed paratroopers. Tanks in the streets. Bombs exploding nearby. Women and children killed. Husbands and fathers are directed to the front lines. Hunger. Sickness. Homelessness. Escape routes cut-off.”
And that is what we are all watching as a democratic country and freedom are being destroyed.
As individuals we can feel helpless to know what to do about it. How do we explain it to our kids? We find ourselves feeling embarrassed or even ashamed to be complaining about having to pay more to fill up our car as we watch what’s happening from afar.
Certainly, there is a lot of praying going on. But with a humanitarian crisis like this what we can do is send financial help for the Ukrainian people who are in the middle of a real-life nightmare.
HOW TO HELP people in Ukraine.
