What New Study Says About Stress We Are Feeling

No researchers need to tell us that most of us have been more stressed about things in recent times.

The pandemic, prices, politics and Putin all are contributing to the increased stress many Americans are feeling. But there are a couple of studies out about when we are most stressed and where across the country is stress is greatest.

In one study, researchers found that American women are the most stressed out on Monday and Tuesday evenings. And that American man are the most stressed out on Friday evenings. The study also found that, on average, women are five percent more stressed than men, but that despite that, women fall asleep about 10 percent faster than men and also get an additional 21 minutes of sleep each night.

As for where in the country people are more stressed out, a new study by WalletHub found it’s in the southern states . Louisiana ranks as the most stressed in the nation, followed by Nevada, New Mexico, West Virginia, and Mississippi. The states where people are the least stressed out are Utah, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and New Hampshire.

Researchers say they based the rankings on four stressors: Work-related stress, money-related stress, family-related stress, and stress over health and safety.

So while we all know that stress is part of life, how we deal with it is more important than just knowing more about it.
