You’ve been hearing the stories about it this morning.
It is what the National Weather Service is calling ‘a once in a generation type event.”
A severe winter storm system with record breaking low temperatures into the teens in places as far south as Austin Texas and Atlanta Georgia and subzero temperatures and dangerous wind chill factors across the Midwest and the East.
The temperature in Denver dropped 37 degrees in an hour and in Cheyenne Wyoming it dropped 30 degrees in just ten minutes. And other major cities reaching into Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi are all getting rare snow for them
San Diego thankfully won’t be part of this record setting winter storm. But of course if you’re heading east for the holidays from San Diego, there are already thousands of flight delays or cancellations.
San Diego will still be making weather news the next few days as winter rages across most of the rest of the country.
The national forecasters are saying the warmest weather in the entire country this Christmas weekend, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s will be in San Diego.
Guess we’ll just have to live with it..
