People talk about it almost every day.
How the three year-long COVID pandemic has changed a lot of things. We all now often in our conversations will say, 'well before COVID I did that and now I do this'.
One of the things that has changed is the way a lot of workers view their jobs.
A lot of people who lost their jobs during the pandemic found other jobs they liked better. And you see the reports that a lot of people are quitting their jobs to get a better or higher paying job.
Some new research found that 61 percent of American employees want to leave their current jobs in 2023. And only 20 percent of Americans describe themselves as being truly passionate and happy about their job.
This week, there was a survey of career experts that listed the 5 happiest and most satisfying jobs. They are: physical therapist, firefighter, teacher, teaching assistant and quality assurance analyst.
None of those may interest you. But with nearly two-thirds of workers in that recent survey who say they want to leave their current jobs this year, it appears that going through the pandemic may have served as a check-up for a lot of people who diagnosed something about themselves they didn’t know. Think about it.
