Is There a Fear Factor in America?

You read the headlines, see the stories and hear the news and it’s not surprising that you may be wondering what’s going on?

From Texas, the story of a man being arrested after two cheerleaders on their way home from practice were shot, one critically wounded, after one of them mistakenly got into the wrong vehicle.

In upstate New York, the story of a man who shot and killed a 20-year-old woman as the car she was in mistakenly drove up the man’s driveway.

And then of course in Kansas City, Missouri, the story of the 84-year-old white man who opened fire on that 16-year-old black kid who went to the wrong address, the elderly man saying he was scared to death at the boy’s size and feared he was unable to defend himself, a claim the man’s family questions and says the shooting should never have happened.

So what is going on?

Are more people more fearful? And if so why? Are there more people who have guns who shouldn’t? Or are there more people with guns who are just bad people?

A 20-year-old woman is killed, a 16-year-old back kid described as a good student almost dies and a cheerleader clings to life.

Are feelings of fear growing in America? Are mental health issues increasing? Are there more criminals running around?

It can even make you fearful at times to just watch the news.
