After yet another deadly mass shooting in America, what is there left to say that already has not been said. And what questions haven’t already been asked that have been asked after every other mass shooting.
This time it was in an outlet mall filled with hundreds of weekend shoppers. But mass shootings have happened at grocery stores, Walmart, public and private schools, even in churches. They have happened at concerts and during parades on city streets. In other words they have happened at almost every kind of location.
And if you’re like most others living in America, you’ve become used to checking to see if there are security guards or police present when you go to places where people are gathered.
And if you’re a parent you’ve become used to telling your kids what to do if…and struggling with how to explain to your kids why these things happen.
And we all have become used to our political leaders doing virtually nothing about it.
Oh they do send their thoughts and prayers to the families of victims and to the communities affected by these mass shootings.
The governor of Texas this weekend said we are more divided than ever. We probably are, but do we just accept that and not work together to try to do something to help prevent these tragedies.
If that’s the case, then God help us.
