What We Can Learn from Older Generations On Social Media

A new survey has found that the older generations spend more time on social media than you might think.

The survey found that nearly two-thirds of seniors 65 and older use social media platforms every day. And close to half of the 2,000 seniors in this survey say they think their life experiences that they share online are helpful to others and even worth writing a book about them to share with others.

And they like to share things they’ve learned about life. Such as “be a good person even when it’s difficult,” “don’t spend money beyond your means,” “learn from the mistakes of others,” and “stay true to yourself.”

The survey also found that seniors, not surprisingly, are into things from their youth and say they’d be open to wearing bell bottoms.

And say they still enjoy listening to their favorite rock stars, among them The Beatles, the Beach Boys and the Rolling Stones with many of them saying the 1970’s was the best decade for entertainment.

Most people love nostalgia, and things from the past that they especially enjoyed. But almost all of the seniors in this survey also said they would go back in time if they could to make better decisions  and spend more time with loved ones.
