You may remember those movies back in the 70s and 80s about nerds and geeks, from Honey I Shrunk the Kids to the Revenge of the Nerds.

Well, nerdiness and geekiness may be back in a different way.

There's a new study that suggests that people who are a little nerdy or a little geeky may be the best finds if you’re looking for a romantic partner or spouse.

The study found that about 75 percent of 2,000 younger singles, [part of the Gen Z or Millennial generations, say that being true to your peculiarities and maybe nerdy things about you will help you fund you perfect partner, like you.

Most of the singles in the survey say they find attractive someone who shares things with them about their nerdy likes and dislikes and are their authentic selves.

Even the term, “authentic self” is a pretty popular way that a lot of people describe what they are looking for when it comes to getting to know someone else and finding a mate.

In other words, when it comes to dating, this study suggests that honesty is the best policy. And telling the truth about the way you are is better than hiding the nerdy or geeky things about you.
