Politics, politics. It seems like it’s everywhere and in everything. We hear about it. We watch it. And we talk about it.
And today is one of those days when politics seems to be all there is.
There is the second Republican presidential debate, tonight at the Ronald Reagan presidential library up in Simi Valley with the seven candidates taking part hoping that they get the GOP nomination next year and not Donald Trump.
And there is the former president getting all the attention he knows how to get by not taking part in the debate and instead speaking to striking auto workers and posting on his social media platform.
And there are the members of Congress who say they are trying to come to an agreement to avoid a government shutdown and prevent federal employees including the military from not getting paid. But the politics of it all seems more important than reaching an agreement.
And there’s President Biden who seems to be in the headlines more for his age than for his politics.
And then there are the American voters. They see all the politics going on and they talk about it a lot. And argue about it a lot.
But most voters probably just want those in politics on both sides of politics doing less fighting over politics and more doing their jobs…that we elect them to do.
