The Words About Wars

There will be wars and rumors of wars, nations will rise against nations.

Even those who have never read those words in the Bible probably have run across those words in some book or have heard someone talk about those words that the Bible says Jesus said to his followers.

And while they are a couple of centuries old, long before the internet, the words are part of popular Google searches and spreading on some social media sites following what happened in Israel three days ago on October 7th.

The Jewish state has declared war on the Hamas terrorist group that governs the Palestinians who live in the adjacent land called the Gaza Strip.

It’s being called a terrorist attack because, as you hard been seeing and hearing, it was an attack on civilians, who were shot and killed or dragged away as hostages as rockets hit buildings, including homes.

And because Israel was caught off guard, this attack is being compared to a Pearl Harbor or 9-11 attack, when Americans were caught by surprise and were victims of evil.

We all know how we were stunned and angry following those attacks and what our nation did to fight back and so will Israel.

This new war comes as Ukraine, with help from the U.S. and other nations fight a war against Russia.

While there have always been wars in the history of the world, those 2,000 year old words about wars and rumors of war are certainly getting more attention here in the latter part of 2023.
