The war between Israel and Hamas has just begun, with the terrorist attack on civilians just 11 days ago. And there is a lot more fighting to come.
But now it is also a war of words, of sound and of evidence.
The Hamas terrorist organization sent out a message to the media and the world, without specific evidence, saying it was a missile strike by Israel that killed hundreds of people at that hospital in Gaza.
Within minutes protests, began in the streets of the Middle East nations that surround Israel.
A few hours later, Israeli Defense Forces held a news conference with satellite photos, maps and audio of conversations among terrorists that they said prove that the explosion at the hospital was from a missile fired from Gaza toward Israel by another organization called Islamic Jihad that went astray.
But as Air Force One took off from Washington for Israel, leaders in Arab nations cancelled their planned meetings with President Biden.
As you have been hearing about this morning, our President told Israel’s president that he agrees that the deadly tragedy at the hospital was the fault of terrorists and not Israeli forces.
And now with the messaging becoming hardened and the images from the hospital filling TV screens along with the scenes of protests, the words of war could become even more dangerous than the weapons of war.
