There are a lot of surveys you see about tipping. A new report says inflation, meaning of course higher prices, has resulted in more people giving less when tipping servers in restaurants.
Researchers say this new poll suggests that it is the impact of the rise in the cost of living, the cost of it seems for everything, with about a quarter of the people polled saying it keeps them from leaving a good tip.
But as we begin the last couple of months of the year, more than a third of those polled say they do try to tip more during the holiday season.
And there was a story just the other day about a group of 10 people in Massachusetts who call themselves the $1,000 breakfast club, and get together at restaurants and each give $100 dollars together to their server.
The guy who started the $1,000 Breakfast Club says that while what they do helps someone out, He says they “kind of do it for ourselves. You get a really good feeling out of it.”
They call it their random act of kindness. And as we approach the holiday season, with the cost of living being what it is, it certainly is a good time to be thinking about and helping others.
