The Google Doodle on this December 1st is an image of a string of holiday light bulbs. And this weekend marks the start of Advent, a four week period that is filled with the anticipation of Christmas Day on December 25th.
All the advent calendars you’ve seen in the stores, some filled with little gifts or goodies, are going up in homes as the holiday season gets into full swing.
Here in San Diego, with December Nights tonight and tomorrow in Balboa Park and the Toy Drives, Christmas boat light parades and the dozens of other events going on between now and the end of the month, the holiday season is now officially upon us.
Christmas tree farms are busy, the stores are busy and many workplaces are filled with holiday decorations.
Kids will be out of school in a couple of weeks or so, and they’re already in full anticipation mode hoping Santa or their family brings them their version of the Red Ryder BB gun.
Christmas movies are the most popular films to watch and Christmas music is everywhere.
It can seem at times, that we just wrapped up last year’s holiday season. And it is easy to let the hustle and bustle over the next four weeks stress us out.
But this year, in 2023, with all that is going on in the world, this Christmas season comes just at the right time.
