We probably all can think of at least one New Year’s resolution that we know we should make. But what resolutions do we think others should make?
It’s time for the annual cliff notes list of resolutions that our political leaders should make for the new year.
San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria should make a resolution to create a state of emergency to address the humanitarian crisis we call the homeless problem so that finally what needs to be done can get done.
The San Diego City Council should resolve to pass an even tougher law restricting street vendors.
Governor Newsom should resolve to stop running around the country appearing to be running for president and instead just be a better Governor.
The San Diego County board of supervisors should resolve to keep their very long meetings much shorter.
SANDAG should resolve to stop the constant bickering and hire an executive director who is not a rebel.
The Port of San Diego should resolve to not destroy Seaport Village.
The federal government should resolve to finally and once and for all to stop the poop from pollution our beaches.
And all of us voters should all make resolution to pay attention, be informed and do our jobs to vote for the candidates who will do the most for the common good which is how a democracy is supposed to work.
