Elections Then, Now and in the Future

Today is Election Day and the last day to vote if you are planning to vote in this Primary election.

A couple of San Diego Union Tribune headlines the last few days read like this: “It’s a relatively uneventful primary.” Another says, “Yes, it’s a sleepy primary”. But adds, “There is still intrigue…”

With those kinds of descriptions of this election here in March, not that many voters may turn out and vote.

But it’s often hard to predict and impossible to know.  The county’s top election official, the Registrar of Voters has said it could match the 2020 primary with close to 50 percent of voters voting. But it may also fall short of that, again no one knows for sure.

A lot of voters of course have their eyes more on the November general election in this presidential year just a bit over 8 months from now.

That is going to a big election and hardly uneventful or sleepy. But it is shaping up to be a repeat of the 2020 presidential election with the same two contestants battling it out.

But a lol of Americans are probably hoping that the election in November will not be repeat of all the controversy and battles over the results.
