They say that everyone talks about the weather, and usually you can’t do much about it. Weather happens and weather changes and we learn to live with it.
But sometimes you have to do something drastic about it.
That’s what is happening in Florida with millions of people evacuating their homes and heading north hundreds of miles to Georgia or Alabama or anywhere else where they can be safe from what is being called another monster storm.
And a lot of people are talking about how unusual this hurricane season been so far. Even the official weather experts are talking about it.
While forecasters expected this hurricane season to be a bad one it’s already been one of the worst.
In just the last couple of weeks, the five hurricanes that developed between September 26th and Oct 6th were more than double the old record of only two.
And on Sunday and Monday this week with three hurricanes in the month of October at the same time for the first time. That had never happened since records first started being kept.
Some veteran scientists are quoted as saying this hurricane season is the weirdest storm season of their lives.
No doubt. And it has prompted a lot of Floridians who in the past maybe have not evacuated, to do it this time. That’s what happens when you have storms that are being called monsters.
