The story of the former pastor of a Texas megachurch, 63 year old Robert Morris, accused of sexual abuse with a minor having surrendered to authorities has a lot of people shaking their heads.
Sadly, if you happen to read the Christian Post, you have seen other church leaders in recent months accused of actions most would say that people like that shouldn’t do. And they’re right, they obviously shouldn’t.
Gladly, it is a small minority of pastors and other church leaders who do such things, but it doesn’t make it any less concerning.
And these incidents, no matter how many or how few, always raise questions among those who don’t have a religious faith but also among a lot of those who do.
While our country was founded on Judeo-Christian values, none of us, just like our country, are perfect.
Throughout the last decade or so there has been a lot of talk by politicians and voters about the moral decline in our country, by those on the right and on the left.
The famous Billy Graham used to say that if you want to change the world, it only can happen by people being changed one at a time.
Given what is going on in politics and around the world, it could take a very long time.
